Re: Tilt Play or Just A Suck-out?

I agree, in retrospect, the check-raise was too small to get the flush draw out.

Tilt Play or Just A Suck-out?

This happened last night in a live game, so sorry for no converter.

Playing 2/5 NL and had got sucked out a few times so I had seen my stack go from over 1K to about $425.

Many players are 2k...

Re: What to do when the table makes no sense.

Capone, the issue comes that when people play without strategy then yes, you can make good $ but it can also throw one off of their game when they start catching bs hands. For ex, a few times I would...

Re: What to do when the table makes no sense.

Good Point firestorm. I slowplayed a straight and let someone catch a river flush because i had made it too cheap (which in this game was me being aggressive) for him.

Re: What to do when the table makes no sense.

1/2 table. the player to my right raised from $2 to $15. The other player then raised it to $35. Which was more than double so it was legal. Maybe I did not word it so well.

What to do when the table makes no sense.

So the place I play often in NY has some loose players. But recently, the play has gotten much looser with people just making all kinds of plays that percentage wise should never have been made in...

Re: 100NL: AK TPTK, call river?

You already have $31 committed and I would say you are the favorite considering the previous hand (and without further observation) may have made him want to push you.

If you lose, in the end you...

Pot Odds in Tournament/Sit-N Go\'s vs Cash Games

I am wondering if people feel that the same rule of pot odds work in small tournament strategy as they do in cash games. If you are playing pot odds in a cash game you can always go back into your...

Re: I suck (folded a set of jacks on the flop)

I would not put him on anything but 2pair or AK, either way you have him dominated. A-10 is not that strong a lead out hand, but yeah, he could have it. I would prefer to go broke with the set on the...

Re: Yet another NYC raid

The one room i keep hearing about in NY has a very strict policy that it really is that you have to know someone to get in and if they don't know you, then no dice. While I agree that it saves you...

TT, I would love to get your perspective on why things will be changing, which you can do on private message if you are inclined.

Much Thanks.

Re: Yet another NYC raid

Well as someone did leave the chips on the table during the raid, I do hope they re-open the NYC club somewhere as they did a good job and provided a comfortable place for quite a few players. The...

Re: Yet another NYC raid

I was there when it happened. They were def cops and knew the drill. Most got out, a few were held. All players were told to leave their chips on the table and then they were escorted out, no ID...

Re: Best Italian Food in Vegas

I would turn this thread on it's head and ask what is the worst restaurant in vegas, but I don't think we have enough time to go through all the posts that would be submitted. :-)

Re: Irritating hand advice please

I see him trying to either 1. get you out (which he did) or 2. represent the 8 (without too much knowledge, it is hard to tell) or more likely 3. spade or straight draw AND trying to get you out. I...

Re: On-line players suck, me included!

Good point. My live games have been going well, on-line not so much, just getting down on the medium. Thx.

On-line players suck, me included!

I was killing time at a $20 SNG on FullTilt when this beat happened. I am trying to figure out how I could have played it differently, but am at a bit of a loss.

9 player SNG.

Still first...

Maybe to change the topic, what do people listen to when playing live? HipHop? Classical? Jazz?

Is there a music that will make you more focused or more distracted?

For me, any lyrics get in...

What is the criticism is about. I pushed initially, and then called after he just called me in the SB and then pushed with a short stack.
I make the call after I made my Aces and the fact that I...

Bad Beat - 1 outer!

Terrible bad beat last night in the $300+30 at the local club. Luckily I went on to place second, so I will not complain too much /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Jackpot on the button (14K in chips)...

Re: Tough spot in tournament

In this case, I may go over the top of MP in order to get UTG+1 off the hand. I would be happy to go heads up with AK against a short stack who may be pushing with a mid pair or something. UTG+1 is...
