Re: Yet another NYC raid
Well as someone did leave the chips on the table during the raid, I do hope they re-open the NYC club somewhere as they did a good job and provided a comfortable place for quite a few players. The online world is no comparison for me to the brick and mortar establishment and if anyplace needs somewhere to get your game on, NY is it.
All the legal talk is a funny thing is often when I was there across the table would be a judge, a few NYPD (active and retired) or a D.A. We all just want to find a place to play, is that so wrong!?! |

Another month, another raid. No worries, still plenty of poker clubs today and tomorrow. Doubt we will see the day when there will not be 5+ poker clubs in each borough (maybe except SI). Its just sad one of the best is closing down, or atleast, moving out. |

for each one that closes, 3 more open! [/ QUOTE ] not anymore. I won't elaborate why, but this wont happen anymore like it used to. There are other factors outside of the police issues, the old days are gone. |

Is the major factor relating to the players or management? |

Re: Yet another NYC raid
TT, I would love to get your perspective on why things will be changing, which you can do on private message if you are inclined.
Much Thanks. |

I discuss things in the B&M forum that I can, I wont go into further details via PM. The whole reason these rooms were shut down is because... LOOSE LIPS SINK SHIPS. There wont be any ships sinking because of me. |

If you want to discuss the law in New York and how it can (or can't) be changed, I would suggest raising the issue in the Poker Legislation forum. Plenty of legal wonks there. If you know of a club -- good for you. Keep it off of 2+2 and other public forums. Otherwise, consider poker in New York City dead. I do. |

I'm not in NY, but EVERY room that I know of that has been shut down or raided by police in the Houston/Clear Lake area were a direct result of some idiot getting mad at the club (no credit line, ect) and reporting the room to the police. In many cases, the police knew about the rooms well ahead of time but didn't mess with them until they recieved written complaints. |
