Re: It was called \"spew\" and \"unprofitable\"
The way the hand played out, you were getting about 2:1 on your money when villain put you all in and your about even money against an overpair, seems like an easy call. I would have lead and 3bet

Re: Problem: Big Slick Spikes an A on the Flop
I think it would have been a little easier to say that you were destined to go broke in this hand if you had raised it yourself preflop. But the way the hand played out, it was fairly obvious that...

Re: $100NL -> KQ on monotone flop
i would have made a blockish bet on the river in order to not have to call a bluff bet. the way the hand played out, villain could easily have had a missed spade draw, and by checking the river you...

Re: Live 3/6 JsJc
Maybe I am just weak tight, but depending on the stack sizes I don't know that this play was all that bad. How many people like playing monster pots with JJ. If you 3 bet PF, then if u were very far...

Re: controlling the size of the pot in NL
I think u took the article out of context. When you are deep stacked, how many people are going to call your oversized turn bet with AJ? What if you get check raised and are up against pocket 9s?...

Re: i made a mess
i agree, i dont think raising with QJ preflop is the most profitable play in the world, but i think the flop is shove or fold, calling is the worst option here

Re: 200nl: call this ghetto river bet?
seems like an easy call because the river check seems so weak that you can pick off a busted flush draw bluff or even somebody who thinks they are value betting KQ or even KJ

Re: QTo I get there but maybe he does too
I like a check call on the river. He prolly wont shove if he does have a flush if you check and it may look like a sign of weakness by the river the check and may allow a worse hand to bet.

Re: JJ in blinds
I think you may have saved yourself some money by putting in the 3rd bet because it looks as if you were beat but think of this. What if he just cold calls your 3rd bet? What do you plan to do on...

Re: NL200: I beat 1 hand, worth calling AI?
im just trying to give you other ideas, i think I'm putting in my stack on the turn without a read, but that's just because i dont see him having QQ or JJ enough of the time. 5 5 or QJ are the only...

Re: NL200: I beat 1 hand, worth calling AI?
just to play devil's advocate.... because this is a tough situation for you with no read on your opponent, i think you coulda come over the top on the flop again with a 3rd bet and made it somewhere...

Re: Button 3 bet FD on the flop vs C/R AI
Right, thats where I see the whole problem comes into play, is that he built up to big of a pot preflop. by just smooth calling and taking a flop, you are not looking at this big of a pot with just...

Re: Button 3 bet FD on the flop vs C/R AI
I dont understand why u felt the need to make it $14 preflop. Other than that, I guess you needed to play the hand the way u played it, but why do u wanna build a big pot with KJ

Re: 200NL what do do?
i dont think its an easy muck because the play by the cutoff doesn't make much sense to me. After a raise and a call he is almost always going to re raise with AA or KK right there.... i would think...
