Re: i made a mess
I usually raise PF, though limping isn't horrible or anything.
I don't think you can call on the flop -- looks like push or fold. I like a push, but I'm lagtarded. |

Re: i made a mess
i agree, i dont think raising with QJ preflop is the most profitable play in the world, but i think the flop is shove or fold, calling is the worst option here

Re: i made a mess
Limp/calling with this hand is gross.
I would shove or fold the flop as played. I actually prefer b/3b. |

Re: i made a mess
I think limping and calling the preflop raise is fine.
The flop action gives me the impression that the SB has a set. If you had a open straight draw vs gutshot in addition to the flush draw, then I would push because if you call the $20, the Button is going allin for only $10.85 more, then the SB pushes. But with the gutshot and flush draw, I fold. |

Re: i made a mess
There's no "should" or "should not" about preflop, it depends on your opponents and how comfortable you felt at the table. I normally raise with QhJh here against opponents who are passive/easily trapped when I flop big/I have fold equity against on a 3bet. Different strokes for different folks.
I lead the betting here all the time. Don't check raise the turn. You're opponent is not getting rid of any two pair, set, or tptk and you cost yourself value. Your $$ here comes from leading the flop. Do you see why? I guess I call here. You have the nut straight and the 2nd nut flush draw. If another heart comes out, opponent hopefully has ahk and you get paid. button's range is pretty big here, so you don't have to worry about him reraising you out of the pot. If the non heart 10 comes on the turn, you can check raise. If a heart comes, I bet about half the pot against some opponents and push against others. |
