Re: Live 20/40 Gar vs. Pro Part 3

Bet to keep from getting bluffed off the best hand. Fold to a raise.

Re: A More Realistic Fred And Ginger Problem

I'm not sure where the break even point is (in terms of Ginger taking 3x as long as Fred to get through things). But practically, problems given to smart people are almost never simple enough that...

Re: 20-40 @ Bay 101

I wouldn't necessarily describe it as you do, but it's certainly a tighter game than the Bellagio 15/30 (or the Artichoke Joe's 15/30, for a slightly better comparison). At least in my experience.

Re: I Just Don\'t Know What To Do With Myself...

I think when OOC is jamming with a flush (or nothing) the other two players are often too timid/ don't have anything to bet here.

Re: OOP decisions in a crowded field

Hmm... but MP1 doesn't look like a J, and you figure MP3 will call with almost anything anyway. So you are really worried about the cold call from MP2, right? And his playing range means you...

Re: OOP decisions in a crowded field

Are you trying to C/R the turn? Seems like a big pot and a coordinated board to give a free card on. Bet/call river seems fine.

Re: Live 20/40: Isolation Raise that Backfired

I wouldn't call a donk bet, I don't think, except for 4 or 5. They have pocket pair, any A, or flush or straight draw maybe? Anyway, I guess I bet out with non-spade 9-K, to get paid off by smaller...

Re: Live 20/40: Isolation Raise that Backfired

Bet/Fold seems fine. Call on the flop said nothing about the players hands, so there's no reason to fear 4/5 or a pocket pair, and EP will call down with an A. Real loose-passive players won't...

Re: Bay Area 20/40: How bad a fold?

Good Question. CO was a player I had seen bet most of the time when it was checked to him on the flop. I also thought he was unlikely to fold to a raise, but CO+1 might, so I checked hoping CO...

Re: Two hands similar situations-river decisions

Hand 1: What's out there that you can beat? The turn raise raise and call make it very unlikely IMO that KK or KQ is still hanging around. Fold.

Hand 2: Unlike hand 1, there was no turn...

Bay Area 20/40: How bad a fold?

9-handed.
Fold to --
CO+1 raises (He's an off-duty dealer, loose and straightforward -- Ax+, 55+, JTo+)
CO calls (He'll call anything to the Turn, and continue if he has any piece, but if he hits...
