1: I raise a billion limpers with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] on the button.
Maybe 6 way. Flop comes A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]10[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Checks all the way to me and I bet naturally, mp is obvious and calls, so is lp who calls. Turn is Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] checks to me I bet, mp c/raises, lp calls 2 cold, I call. River is brick mp bets, lp calls, and I? Hand 2: I limp after two loose passive's with A8o on the button in a late night game. sb has been running like a Kenyan jamming draws and completes, bb checks. Flop comes A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] sb bets, mp (Gene Michaels for those familiar) calls, I raise, sb 3-bets, mp calls, I cap they both call Turn 6:diamonds: They both check, I goof and check. River 10o sb bets, mp calls, I? |

Hand 1:
On rough math (depending on how many limpers =a billion) you only need to have the winner ~7% of the time here, but I don't think we are even ahead that often so I Fold. Hand 2: Turn is a bet, but you know that. River is a call I think. Because your line is a little odd and you could easily have this one won... certainly enough of the time to warrant a call. |

Hand two, do you want to know the correct play, or the one where you fell for the old "Ace-3 offsuit" or the "pocket 10's" trick? Can't believe I feel for that twice in one weekend... I miss those old "Get Smart" episodes. Anybody know where I can find them? |

These are both easy calls. Mp is gonna show up with worse trips more than enough in hand 1 and in hand two you gotta call the river after showing that much weakness on the turn.

These are both easy calls. [/ QUOTE ] Yep. In hand 1 the pot is just too big, and in hand 2 you under-represented your hand too badly on the turn. |

These are tough, but I think you fold hand 1, and call hand 2.
The difference is the turn action. In hand 1 you forced the MP to define his hand on the turn. In hand 2 you check the turn, so its difficult to know what the oppositions river bet means. Curious to see what others say... |

Hand 1: What's out there that you can beat? The turn raise raise and call make it very unlikely IMO that KK or KQ is still hanging around. Fold.
Hand 2: Unlike hand 1, there was no turn action, and the straight missed. If sb would have bet a flush on the turn, and mp would have raised a big A preflop, then you might try and be clever with a raise on the end figuring MP will call with a worse hand. So, uh, call. Like everyone else says. |

Reads are key in hand 1 against some guys you can fold, others you can call. Its really tough for me to give you an obvious answer. If this is a typical borg 20/40 opponent, you can toss the river b/c he's got a flush/strait 100% of the time. If he's one of those spewy over aggro guys make the call
Hand 2: Must call b/c you checked the turn. There is a real chance that sb believes he's value betting a worse ace here. |
