Yes, I fully agree with you. I've started doing the "Hero raise" lately and I think it's pretty effective. Make sure that you do it against the right Villains.

Assuming 100BB stacks, we raise to 4BB and get reraised to 12BB. So it's 8BB more for us to potentially win another 88BB. Isn't this still marginally profitable to be set-mining with any pocket pair?

Intro: Villain just played one orbit at this table. On his 3rd hand, he limps UTG w K8s and calls a raise behind him. He flops 2nd-pair + Flush draw and bets out 2/3rd pot, gets raised and he shoves....

I've actually opened up my game a little. Over the first 6,000 hands, I was running at 12/5.5 .

Given the right opponents, I often raise with any 2 cards OTB or CO after they limp and c-bet...

Considering this hand in a vacuum, I'd just give up. You're OOP and the board is all low, button and SB will call with a wide range and you'd have to c/fold unimproved on the turn.
