HIIT questions
I started working out for weight loss in July 2006. I have experience with distance running since childhood, so that's what I did, along with watching calorie intake. My current regimen is 5...

Re: A10s, TPTK, board-pairing turn
I'm thinking that a 3 bet might have been correct given my reads, with intentions to fold to a cap (?), call a river donk, but nothing more (?), and take a free showdown if either or both opponents...

Re: AKo. . . I call the whole way
Is cold calling ever right in this situation? I know very well that 3 betting is the standard play here, but it just didn't feel right because (1) I'm probably at best tied with the raiser, given...

AKo. . . I call the whole way
Live 5/10 game the other day at Resorts EC. I'm running bad and my image is either bad or unlucky.
Villain is the table captain, berating the bad players, talking for the "cameras," etc. Like...

Normally, I'd say that new player has the goods, but if he and aggro player have played before, he might have the same read that you do and raise with a hand like 99 here to try to push...

A10s, TPTK, board-pairing turn
5/10 game yesterday at Resorts EC. Table is weirdly aggressive, with 2 or 3 super-aggro types and 2 or 3 clueless fish raising hands like A2s from the blinds. I've been seated for 45 minutes or so,...

Re: jogging fatso?
I started jogging last summer when I was at 330 lbs. I started by walking most of the course and jogging the last 1/4 mile, then running 1/2 mile, then bumping it to 3/4 after two weeks, then 1 mile...

Re: another top set hand
Thanks for the replies.
It checked through and MHIG for high. Button didn't show, but probably had A23x, perhaps A23J, which would explain his flop aggression. The other two had crappy lows.

another top set hand
5/10 kill O/8 game at Resorts EC. Kill is off.
Table is geriatric as always, but a couple of the really live regulars are seated, which, of course, is good.
I limp AA47ds from UTG, 3 more...

5/10 omaha 8/b at Resorts EC
I've driven up to play this game the last two Saturdays (Resorts only spreads Omaha on the weekends). The first time (1/27), the game was six-handed when I sat down (around 3 p.m.), and wheezed...

Re: semi bluff with pocket ducks
Maybe the PF raiser folds the river, but what about the button? He's your main concern, since he called MP's bet on a dry flop.
Fold the flop and wait for another hand and a better spot.

Re: semi bluff with pocket ducks
Did you call out of the big blind? If so the PF call makes sense (getting 8-1 from the BB).
Flop c/r doesn't work too well with the button being between you and MP. I think I get away from this...

The OP's story may seem egregious, but as poker players (and perhaps as gamblers in general) all of us are playing with fire, no matter how disciplined we consider ourselves. Who among us hasn't...
