Which kinds of brings up an interesting question: given that we're readless, do we fold to a turn cap, or call down for two more big bets?

3betting the turn and folding to a cap would just be silly. The pot is too big to fold by then, and there are very few hands that villan will have which beats us.

Okay, my standard play here is the call down, but I'm questioning it on further thought.

It's somewhat difficult given the fact that we have no reads, but tell me this: what hands raise PF then cap the turn?

53 isn't a raising hand, even for a maniac. 44 and 66 are also highly unlikely. Given a turn cap and PF raise, I'd put it at pretty long odds that we're up against an AA. Since it would be 2 bets to showdown, we're looking at 5:1 odds. Do you really think anything other than AA would be likely 1 in 6 times? I don't........

First a total maniac will raise with 53. Second why are we thinking about 44 since there is only one 4 still in the deck. [ QUOTE ]

Good luck with that.

EDIT: OP raise of fold PF unless you expect a lot of company.

What doesn't matter is how smart or dumb it is to be playing with 1k at 5/10, what matter's is whether or not the OP is comfortable doing so, which he obviously isn't. If you continue to play scared and make the wrong decisions because you don't want to lose your money, you will probably just lose your money slowly. Either become less risk averse or find a different game as it seems like you know where you made your mistakes.

300 BB isn't enough for 5/10. After 3/6, you need at least 500BB is be properly rolled. if you're playing 300BB, you need to be very willing to move down if you're swinging bad.
