Re: 100-200 NLH at the rio w/ Affleck & Damon. gogogo?

Lori is still a regular in the Foxwoods 10-25, she plays very tight. I was very surprised to see her playing this high.

Re: Poker Hedge Fund

1. I don't think you will find enough long-term winning players that will give up a chunk of their profits to investors.

2. How are you going to protect yourself against getting cheated (such as...

Live, deep, nuts on turn, bad river, call $4,000?

Live 10-25, almost everyone is sitting deep. I started with 5,000 and have worked my stack up to 13,000, villain sat with about 60,000, which is approximately what he has when this hand comes up.

Re: crazy fold at my table- 10/25 fw

John,

I was at the table when this hand was played. I'd love to hear your thoughts on why Chris did not have AA, KK or bottom set--couldn't he have played these hands in the same manner?

In...

Re: bellagio 10-20 deep: top 2 on the flop facing pressure

You said he's a competent regular. How often do you think he is leading/3-betting OOP on the flop with worse than AK?

It certainly feels like AK or a set. I would muck on the turn. As played,...

Re: Is this river bluff brilliant or suicidal?

[ QUOTE ]
If you are going to bet the turn, I would bet more. 1200 or more sounds good.

[/ QUOTE ]

Do you think 800 generally accomplishes the same thing while risking less?

Is this river bluff brilliant or suicidal?

Live 10-20, I start the hand with a little over 5,000, villain covers.

Fish in middle position bets 80, another guy calls, I call in the cutoff with 6 /images/graemlins/heart.gif4...

Re: Live 25-50, big decision with bottom 2

[ QUOTE ]

I disagree for a lot of reasons, but I think it comes down to this:

I agree 84o is a terrible hand, but many of the biggest pots I have ever won have been with terrible starting...

Granted I do not have a lot of live experience, but I have played deep stack poker and that really doesnt change for a hand like 84o. 84o is just a really bad hand that is going to get you...

I had been leaning toward a fold, but after his "Absolutely" comment I was now 50/50 on what to do.

I thought for another minute, then I picked up my money and started counting it to see how he...

This would be a horrendus call on the flop. do you think he wants to call with a hand when he has a draw? If he has a draw, he keeps his mouth shut cause he wants you to fold. This is a...

Live 25-50, big decision with bottom 2

Bellagio 25-50. The game started a couple of hours earlier when Jamie Gold arrived, and 6 people (locals) at my 10-20 table immediately left to start a 25-50 with Jamie (they were practically...

I used to be a corporate attorney for a mid-sized firm, and now I am a partner in a hedge fund.

To me the decision is very, very easy. It's hedge fund in a landslide. If the opportunity is as...

I called, getting about 3900:1700 odds, which in hindsight is not enough, because I think he seldom, if ever, is putting in that last raise without a hand that beats me.

He had AJ.

2 pair vs. hotmark, facing a 4-bet on the turn

Background:

He's been his usual very aggressive self, and before this hand has been pushing me around a bit. He's probably gotten me off the best hand a couple of times with big raises, and may...

Re: Good place to watch Super Bowl in Vegas?

Unfortunately, that is consistent with what I have been hearing. This is pretty disappointing.

Re: Foxwoods 10-25, straight draw on a 2flush board

[ QUOTE ]
Correct me if I'm wrong, but after you checkraise you've got:
3300-125-1200 = 1975 left,
and there's 525+2400+1975 = 4900 in the pot to win
so you've got to be right 1975/4900 % of the...

Foxwoods 10-25, straight draw on a 2flush board

I see that Pinnacle clearly states that in a 2-team teaser, a tie and a loss is no action.

Maybe the rep at Mansion was clueless?
