As soon as I saw durrrrr was playing Razz I was going to ask how big of a fish the 4th guy in the game was. Then I read the hand.

If you happen to have the full hand history, there is a converter here.

Third and fourth are pretty standard, as far as I can tell. I think the captain has a fold on fifth. durrr's raise on sixth is poor, in my opinion, and four-betting is just spewing.

Whats so shocking about this hand? Captain went to far with his (25)a or (35)A (I doubt (23)A but thats possible too), and was a huge favorite to win on 6th street but didn't get there. He called down 1 street father than he should have which is a bit fishy but not too horrible because he probably felt good card might win the pot (he was wrong). This hand is actually kinda standard, and Durr needs some coaching on hand reading this game. I fixed the format below.

Razz ($1,000/$2,000), Ante $200, Bring-In $300 (converter)

Seat 1: captain12345 ($43,714)
Seat 2: durrrr ($19,800)

Seat 7: Luigi66369 ($61,492)

Most well rounded fantastic players like Durr who have no Razz hand reading experience would play it the same. Durr got lucky on the river... I see hands played like this at many levels, it doesn't shock me at all even though its bad.

Tend to agree with the rest of the comments.

Call the raise on 6 but don't re-raise.
The very best seat 2 can make is a 9 low, and most of the other low cards are still in play.

Durrr misread his hand on 6th and thought he had a board lock.

Hmm, didn't think Capt was that big a dog. But, I guess taking one off and hoping the other guy misreads the boards is a good strategy is 1K/2K razz.

Poker Essays - page 137-138. "A World Class Play". That essay explains Captain's thought process well. Captain just barely had the implied odds to call if he caught perfect - IF he knew Durr would re-raise him on 6th thinking he had a board lock. Although Mason calls it World Class, I'd call it a very good read on a risky play that when it works pays off in spades.
