Re: I Hate Slow Playing - But Should We Do It Here?
Agree that some of the advice on this thread stinks.
One of the criteria for slow playing that is missing in the analysis so far is the chance of someone making a second best hand. The most likely second best hand here is a lower flush or flush draw. Since you raised preflop a flush or flush draw isn't going to give you credit for hitting the flush so you might as well bet out. There aren't many other second best hand to hit here. Catching a set/trips or two pair on the turn isn't likely enough to slowplay. The only other possibility I see is QT or something hitting a gutshot on the turn. Even then two pair or a straight isn't going to go crazy on this board. Put in the bet here and hope someone has QX [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] or someone overplays K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] as metnioned previously. There is a good chance everyone will fold when you bet here, but there is an almost equal chance that everyone will fold the turn if you check the flop and bet the turn. So you might as well get an extra bet on the flop for the people that are going to call all the way with a small flush. |

Good post, most useful yet. Perhaps in another 3000 posts you'll master the teaching aid known as sarcastic ridicule. :P

Re: I Hate Slow Playing - But Should We Do It Here?
Anyway I bet and they folded
But in an allmost identical hand, I bet the flop, it was raised, reraised and capped. Another club came on the turn. I bet the turn and it was raised, I reraised and he called. I bet the river and it was called. Villain had T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I also find that opponents will call a Flop bet with a slim chance of winning but will not call the Turn bet. |

Yep, that's usually why you end up having to make another continuation bet on the turn when you miss your overs (sometimes river against the right opponent who will release a low pair) in the micros.

Thanks....at least I think, unless I'm also not good at recognizing sarcastic ridicule.
Actually in real life I am one of the best at sarcastic ridicule, but I'm actually here to learn something. |

Re: I Hate Slow Playing - But Should We Do It Here?
Reason you bet this is because you'll get action from strong clubs, and no action from anything else. So it's quite pointless to check and pray for more action when it probably ain't coming.

Re: I Hate Slow Playing - But Should We Do It Here?
Slowplaying works best against tight players and those who play well after the flop. Both of your opponents here are loose and will normally call with almost anything. Bet the flop. They most likely won't give you credit for the flush, but most likely won't bet into it if you check either. It's useless trying to make fancy plays against opponents who don't have a clue in the first place.
