153K hands played of NL/PL since getting PT; 0 preflop folds of KK. I've probably folded more sets postflop (or at least shown them down as cheaply as possible) than anybody, though.

I can remember folding it once preflop deepstacked against a rockish player.

[ QUOTE ]
It seems a lot more common than 1 in 22000 - anyone got an exact stat? [/ QUOTE ] If all else fails, work it out yourself: We are not looking for the probability of KK v AA on any random hand, we are after the probability that someone else has AA given that you have KK. Easy. The are 50 cards unknown. The probability of any given person having AA against your KK is 4/50 x 3/49 = 12/2450 ~ 1/204. To calculate the probability of anyone on the table having AA, multiply 1/204 by the number of people sat at the table apart from you. So, for a 10 handed table the probability would be 9/204 ~ 0.044 = 4.4%. For a 6 handed game the probability would be aprox 2.5%. Whilst these stats are interesting they are not particularly important. Far more important is your knowledge of the player making the push, your own table image and the depth of the stacks. IF you're both deep, you have only been raising preflop with top 4 hands and the reraiser is a rock you have an easy fold. Other situations will be less straightforward. Will some check my stats to make sure I've not made a mistake? |

Once against Bodgod. He's like 1% PFR and cold-fourbet.

I haven't read other responses, but it would probably be in your best interest to never fold KK for 100xbb online against all but the rockiest of rocks.

You've made a mistake, sorta, but your #s will get you a good approximation anyways. Basically, you can't just multiply 1/204*9, the correct way to do it is to do 203/204^9. Assuming I know how to use an online calculator, the answer appears to be 0.9567etc. This assumes that each other player's hand is an independant event, which may not be true, so this # could be very slightly off.

This forum is really disappointing of late.
How often do you fold KK preflop gets a ton of responses. The rest of the threads are all about folding the third nuts. |
