5x5 Rotisserie, 12 teams, 8th pick

C Joe Mauer (4)
1B Nick Johnson (15)
2B Robinson Cano (8)
3B David Wright (1)
SS Jimmy Rollins (3)
OF Ichiro (2)
OF Willy Taveras (11)
OF Jeff Francoeur (12)
UTIL Scott Rolen (7)
B Rocco Baldelli (14)
B Justin Morneau (16)
B Austin Kearns (21)

SP Shawn Chacon (17)
SP Matt Morris (19)
RP Joe Nathan (5)
RP Huston Street (6)
P Jason Isringhausen (9)
P Derrick Turnbow (10)
P Tom Gordon (13)
B Chad Orvella (18)
B Paul Maholm (20)

I'm worried I'm a little light on HR/RBI. I guess I've pretty much given up Wins and K's, but should be up there in WHIP, ERA and Saves.

You're going to have a lot of trouble competing with this team.

On the pitching side, if you are really giving up on wins, unload all your starting pitchers for players in other areas. Although it is hard to make this strategy succeed.

On the hitting side, I see a lack of power, and a very injury-prone lineup.

This is one of the strangest fantasy teams I have ever seen.

You aren't going to get enough wins or Ks to dig out from last place in those categories. As your roster stands now, Morris, Chacon, and Maholm are worthless and will in fact only serve to hurt your ERA and WHIP. If you aren't going to try to acquire some good SPs via trade, you might as well take these guys out of your lineup.

Similarly, you have six closers. Winning the saves category by 80 saves isn't going to help you more than winning it by 1.

You can't punt two categories and expect to win a league (it's hard enough to punt one and do it). Your best bet is to try and trade three of those closers for an ace or two and some power.

B-. some reaches early in your draft (beltran, rolen), some good value (bonds, giles). lots of wasted late picks. i would release your entire bench except for upton, along with silva and looper. there has to be better talent on waivers.

D+. you are better off punting starting pitching entirely than running with chacon, morris and maholm. your batters are way too speed-biased to dominate the hitting categories, which you need to do to win while punting two categories. you have some good talent but the team is going nowhere unless you make a lot of trades.

C+. you drafted some guys i like, but it's totally unnecessary to spend a round 6 pick on holliday or round 12 on granderson. get a real util hitter.

A draft I helped my friend with since this is his first time playing any type of fantasy sports.

Typical Yahoo Public 12 teams 5x5 roto

12th overall pick first round
In the order of drafting

Mi. Cabrera
B. Abreu
P. Konerko
C. Beltra
M. Prior
B. Lidge
J. Beckett
F. Lopez
J. Isringhausen
C. Tracy
K. Millwood
J. Gomes
Z. Duke
J. Morneau
R. Cano
M. Clement
A. Pierzynski
S. Shields
C. Shelton
J. Crain
J. Hermida

Matt Clement and Josh Beckett is potentially going to be used as trade bait as there were two huge Red Sox fans in the draft.

C K. Johjima
1B R. Sexson
2B J. Kent
3B T. Glaus
SS J. Peralta
OF J. Bay
OF A. Jones
OF C. Tracy
Util R. Winn
BN L. Castillo
BN W. Taveras
BN G. Atkins
BN N. Swisher

SP Jo. Santana
SP M. Prior
RP D. Báez
RP J. Duchscherer
P B. Colón
P J. Patterson
P N. Lowry
BN A. Harang

I'm going to be dropping Atkins, Swisher, and possibly Castillo. Going to pick up SP's. Also, I may just punt saves and trade Baez if I cant deal for 2 more closers. Ideally, I'd like to trade Santana, Prior, and Duchscherer for 2 quality SP and 2 Closers. Hoping to get someone to overpay for Santana, and package Prior in that because I don't want to have him for when he goes on the DL. Also I would like to upgrade from Tracy in the OF

Nope. Weeks, Rollins, and Coco bring enough SB to your team where you don't need to load up on it with a guy like Podsednik.
