I normally don't take a pitcher until round 9, but with what I considered to be the second best pitcher still sitting there at 6 I couldn't pass up Peavy. I'll probably drop Barfield before the start of the season and try and pick up some power off of the waiver wire maybe a Dellucci or Casey Blake.

Overall I was pretty happy with this draft and give it a B.

Really like your team. you have a lot of guys i lie his year as value picks (Wilkerso, Lowry, Bedard). ONly criticisms would be I think round 4 is early for crisp, and your bench SPs outside Lieber have little upside - I would dump for some MRs or closers in waiting.

Yea, I reached on Crisp. I've been getting killed on runs the past few years and I was real intent on getting a high runs guy. I'm a big fan of middle of the road starters on good teams. We have no game limits so I can really rack up wins and have been first or second most years in that cat and my WHIP & ERA stays low if I match them up well. Plus my goal is to get 100 some saves and finish in the 7 to 9 points area.

For you team I like your power, RBI and run scoring potential. Your speed is really relying on Gathright and Soriano to play alot. Soriano has been scaring me the past few days. But Gathright is good value speed late. I'm not as sure Wright will run as much as he did last year, but he is still going to be real good in that line-up.

Your starting staff is pretty stacked with the top 5 guys and Cain is great to have even if he struggles for half a season because he could be a great keeper for next year.

Relief pitching like yours does scare me a bit. But, I've seen it work well before. Overall I would give it a C+.

Pretty solid...I would also give it a B. I would love to see the full draft - I don't know how Peavy made it to round six (I would have taken him in 4 if still available), how Damon made it to round 10, and Lowry in 20 (he usually goes around 10-11).

I would consider trading one of your power hitters for a top-tier closer. You may also need more SB's if Soriano doesn't play this year.
