Re: Turning $3,500 into $250,000 in less than ~12 months
[ QUOTE ]
Current Roll: 3.5k -----------Hourly-----Bankroll 200nl----- ~$100 3.5k--->10k 400nl----- ~$160 10k---->18k 600nl----- ~$240 18k---->35k 1000nl---- ~$400 35k---->80k 2000nl---- ~$800 80k---->250k [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] The dollars per hour is just 5 PTBB per hour, hence the win rate doesn't decline with the increase of stakes. [/ QUOTE ] Your calculations are incorrect if you are factoring 5ptbb/100 4-tabling. That said, some of the best players at these levels don't even make 5ptbb/100. Granted, you are only 4-tabling, but if you think you can realistically run at 5ptbb/100 at 200/400/600/1000/2000NL, I think you are being a bit optimistic. Advice: Maybe try increasing the # of tables you play. The biggest number you want is $/hour, not ptbb/100. If you can 8-tabling and make 3ptbb/100, you are making more $/hour than if you 4 table and run hot at 5ptbb/100. Example: 200NL Running 2ptbb/100: 4-table ~ $20/hour (250 hands) 8-table ~ $40/hour (500 hands) 12-table ~ $60/hour (750 hands) Running 3ptbb/100: 4-table ~ $30/hour 8-table ~ $60/hour 12-table ~ $90/hour Running 5ptbb/100 4-table ~ $50/hour 8-table ~ $100/hour 12-table ~ $150/hour ETC. Obviously your ptbb/100 is probably going to be higher if you play fewer tables, but as you can see, 12-tabling 200NL at 2ptbb/100 has a higher hourly than 4-tabling at 5ptbb/100 - just some food for thought. |

Re: Turning $3,500 into $250,000 in less than ~12 months
Hmm, so you think at the current state of online poker it's impossible to pull 7 PTBB/ 100 even at 200nl for an extended sample size? Surely this can't be the case.
Either way, I'm not going to try to debate projected profits. I honestly don't know how well this will go yet. I might crash and burn for all we know. I'm going to try to update this thread each month for the next X amount of months until I hit my goal or give up. I'll post # hours, profits, and stakes. Either way it should be fun for everyone. Re: Turning $3,500 into $250,000 in less than ~12 months
If you have time, look around the forum and try to find the older posts and screenshots from the winning 200NL players.
I know at 100NL, 4ptbb/100 is VERY VERY good. I can't imagine 200NL would be that much higher. |

Re: Turning $3,500 into $250,000 in less than ~12 months
i think your estimations are way off.
however, i do think that winning $246,500 in a year playing poker is very reasonable if you are good, and put poker before school. |

[/ QUOTE ] I'll quit going on about potential winrates after this - yes, 7 is possible while 4 tabling for the best 1/2nl players and a lot of the good higher stakes players if they moved down (though I do think that anyone who can make that can make more $/hr playing 8+ tables), but if you've been playing online for 4 months, whatever your sample size is, if you've been running at that rate it's very likely your true winrate is lower. |
