Re: $1.20: Continuation bet the flop?
[ QUOTE ]
A c-bet can take the pot down now. [/ QUOTE ] But most likely won't given the stats of the villain in question. [ QUOTE ] A c-bet doesn't tell your opponent if you have AK or AA [/ QUOTE ] The opponent in this hand is most likely thinking only about his own cards, not yours. If the buyin posted in the subject was $5 or higher I would not have made my post. |

Re: $1.20: Continuation bet the flop?
This was a good line. Remember that a c-bet of 2/3 the pot only has to work 40% of the time to be effective, as you are risking 180 to win 285. Even at this level, you have that much most of the time. Given that he was very very loose, it may not have been the optimal line, but I hardly hate it.

It's ok, against a guy this loose I'll check behind a lot too. [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: $1.20: Continuation bet the flop?
Thanks for the answers everyone, and i agree with quad about the annoyance of these sit and gos with people calling cont. bets left right and centre and then being down on chips for the rest of the tourney.
Bradley, thanks for the 3 different tips to why c-betting was good here. What do you mean when you say "a c-bet in position lets you see 2 more cards for 1 bet" ? |

Re: $1.20: Continuation bet the flop?
If you are last to act and c-bet and opponent just calls, generally he will check the turn and if you want, you can take a free card and see the river for free. Hence you see the turn and river for only 1 bet (this is a very common principle in limit holdem btw).
