Agreed - This board offers so many coordinated options for semi-bluffs that you probably will see those + overs vs. overset enough.

I've never seen anybody push with a semi-bluff like this at SSNL. Whenever I push a superdraw into someone, people at the table always remark that I am a nut. I would expect a straight and flush draw to raise bigger initially or simply call the reraise.

Last weekend: I raise QQ from LP and BB calls. Flop comes QKx rainbow. 150BB stacks go in. Turn and river blank off. Bastard shows KK for the overset.

I'm okay with your hand. Would've been tougher if BB re-raised preflop.

I have seen a few pushes like this but they were short stacks in a raised pot. I agree with you, but top pair with a flush draw might play this way, but again probably not in an unraised pot.

Other than that, the board is pretty dry. I doubt he is making a pure bluff in this unraised small pot. I still don't know if I would be able to fold.

subzero,

If I raise the flop to $35, it is with the intention of calling a push.

Agreed, but when he pushed I questioned what hands he could have that I could beat. I thought maybe I could get away from this (even after I raised) and save some stack. But I called, figuring I have to pay off the overset (if he had it).

On that flop, what are you being re-reraised with? I'd say once I'm re-reraised on that flop , then I'm giving my opponent 55%+ credit for a set (hence -EV), especially considering no one raised pf.

This was my thinking as I puked and called. I question that decision (which is why I posted). Thanks for all the responses. It helps.

I think it would have been easier if BB had re-raised. Then stacks wouldn't be deep enough for a 4-bet and you can put him on an overpair.

oh nevermind, I thought the bb was the 66 hand.
