100NL set of ducks
Only had a couple orbits with villain. Seems like a solid player (24/6/1.2). Standard or can I get away from this when villain pushes?

standard [/ QUOTE ] Judging by the overwhelming responses, that's what I figured. But when I called the all-in, I had this "I know I'm beat, but I'm going to call anyway" feeling. With no raise preflop, an overpair was not likely. I thought 2-pair was not likely (can't see villain playing that from MP). At best, I thought I was up against a flush draw (with top pair maybe). But at these stack sizes, I figured this was standard. |

Re: 100NL set of ducks
You play this hand for exactly this flop. Call and reload if villian had a higher set.

Re: 100NL set of ducks
I can't get away from it on a two flush board. On a rainbow flop against this player I might find a fold. The fact that he limped in also has me worried.
In this example, there's too great a chance he's got 78d or something like JTd for the flushdraw plus overs. If you have a solid read that he never semi-bluffs, which is possible given his tightness then you can also find a fold, this smells like 999 to me. |

Results.
Results:
Hero has 2h 2c (three of a kind, twos). MP1 has 6h 6s (three of a kind, sixes). Outcome: MP1 wins $234.30. MHING. The funny thing is, I overset-ed someone a few hands earlier. Easy come, easy go. |

You play this hand for exactly this flop. [/ QUOTE ] But not this action. If you're ever going to fold bottom set in fear of another set, this is the time. |

Re: Results.
Last weekend: I raise QQ from LP and BB calls. Flop comes QKx rainbow. 150BB stacks go in. Turn and river blank off. Bastard shows KK for the overset.
Easy come, easy go. To OP's hand: There's no way I fold this in the moment, but a little math might support one. You're getting about 2:1 on the final call. You're a huge dog to the overset, exactly 6 hand combinations. You're a mild favorite to the monster draws, 8d7d etc. You're a big favorite to two pair but as you said that seems unlikely. And a stone bluff seems very unlikely too. So if villain is 45% overset, 45% monster draw, 10% two pair/bluff/junk, just to pick numbers, then the call is very marginal. |

[/ QUOTE ] Agreed - This board offers so many coordinated options for semi-bluffs that you probably will see those + overs vs. overset enough. |

Re: 100NL set of ducks
On that flop, what are you being re-reraised with? I'd say once I'm re-reraised on that flop , then I'm giving my opponent 55%+ credit for a set (hence -EV), especially considering no one raised pf.
