What would you cap this game at on a neutral field?

Being reported that Holcomb is likely to be the Vikes starting QB.

I believe that this helps them. I'll take the points.

Good luck. web page

Agree with Perf esp. the "Minny can stop the run" part, and I also think either of the two QBs behind Jackson starting is an upgrade.

Take this analysis with a grain of salt because I am a Vikings fan:

Both are running teams. MN's run defense is way better than KC's run defense. MN's running attack has been better than KC's this year. MN pass defense has shown to be improved this year as well, only giving up 20 points(thru OT) to a pass-only Lions team last week(that was in addition to Minny's offense turning the ball over 6 times, twice in their own territory)

[/ QUOTE ]

Detroit also turned the ball over 6 times in that game. A couple less and it would have been ugly. As it was the Lions ran up 415 total net yards on them.

What interests me in this game is KC's running game vs. Minn's run D. I'm not sold on this run D yet. I want to see how much of their ranking is due to their actually being able to stop the run and how much is due to the fact teams know they can throw all day against the Vike's secondary so they don't bother to run until they are protecting a lead. This week should help answer that question imo.

Bills +17 - 1 unit (dont care who they are playing cause a 17 point spread in the NFL is just plain ridic!)

[/ QUOTE ]

Agreed, this is, in my opinion, an over-reaction of the Patriots' recent wins and the Bills' struggling streak. Looking at their matchups in previous years we see a huge jump in the line from previous matchups.

Buffalo only has 1 offensive TD this season so far..
I'm just going to avoid this game completely though.

I'll agree with the Chiefs winning this week. Home opener and arrowhead will be exploding.
Last week vs the Bears it should have been a lot closer game. Take Devin Hesters returns out (10 points from just him basically) and a disgusting play call by the coaching staff on 3rd and 1 deep in Bears territory, that game probably goes to OT

On the other hand I will also agree on the Chiefs not making the playoffs this year. QB situation is terrible and they got one of the worst, if not THE worst, schedules this year

First this is coming from a Cheifs fan so keep that in mind. With Jared Allen coming back from suspension, I give a slight edge to KCs d in this one.

Rose-colored glasses for sure dude. The Vikings are 6th in the league this year against the run, they were 1st last year by a wide margin. Their numbers against the pass are skewed, because nobody runs against them.

The Vikes are 3rd in the NFL for least points allowed, 1st in the NFL for defensive TD's, tied for 1st for sacks, and 2nd for interceptions.

From homer to homer, how about a no-vig side bet on the game?

That is cool with me. What book do you use? I use a couple of different books, like matchbook, wsex, and bodog Send me an IM on how much.

This will not be one of the four (slight chance for five) games the Chiefs win this year, FWIW.

[/ QUOTE ]

Totally agree with you. They might not win 4 even, but I like them this weekend. I thought they looked good last week against the bears and like the other poster said if it werent for Hester scoring 10 points and the cheifs get a TD called back for illegal motion, they had a shot to win it.

Heh. Fair enough. here's some info to back it:

I did quite a bit of handicapping on the Chief's schedule as part of my "Chiefs do not make the playoffs" string of bets that I abused some people on.

This is a bad matchup for the Chiefs for several reasons. Chiefs fans know this is going to be a rebuilding year and the "arrowhead effect" is going to suffer as a result. Not to mention the Arrowhead effect is vastly overrated, especially in recent years. As is Larry Johnson's running ability given the Chief's one dimensional attack and significant problems at offensive line. The Chiefs are going to mightily struggle this year, especially so against teams that can stop the run. The vikings can stop the run.

KC will struggle mightily to win five games this season. This is by no means a "lock" or a sure thing. But i do not like the Chiefs -3, fwiw.

I didn't watch the game, but good call on -3 being weak. I'm glad I had the ML.
