actually, preflop is +EV in isolation and very +EV for meta precisely because of these stack sizes.

think about this situstion - you open AQo and a light 3-bettor reraises you. with 100bb stacks how often do you 4-bet? deeper?

and this one: you open JThh and are repopped by a light 3-bettor in position. you call in two scenarios - with 100bb and with 150-200bb. how often do you go broke on a T or J high flop with 100bb? and how often when you're deeper?

I almost never like bet-check-bet as a bluff, because nobody seems to fold to it ever if they have anything, and this guy pretty much has to have something since he c/c that flop in a reraised pot.

The only way it works is if you're able to level him with history and bet sizing, and obviously thats not the case during your 6th hand at the table.

Preflop i'm a little meh on, but I don't think its terrible.

am i wrong for thinking overbetting here might be more likely to get looked up than a normal value-ish sized bet? he has to know that his hand looks a lot like Ax to you, if you're going to try to bluff him based on the fact that he has to know that you know what he has, the overbet looks a lot like "please fold your marginal hand" whereas a value bet looks like "please call with it" and therefore might be more effective vs a thinking player since you two have no history at this point.

or maybe since he's unknown we're not really assuming he's a thinking player and you're just hoping that's too much money for him to call with just an Ax or pp.
