Many congratulations. If you're there on your own you might want to consider that Stars will doubtless put on some receptions for you all. You can get to know some of the other qualifiers, share cabs etc and that will be a lot easier if you're in the same hotel.
If you have your own entourage with pimp-mobile then take the cash. |

Stars ran shuttles from TI to the RIO, and once your at the RIO you can take the normal shuttle to Harrah's from RIO and walk to TI or Mirage which is where they put people up last year.

(1) You cannot get a decent room for 9 nights in Las Vegas for $1K. This will cover two weekends (which get premium rates) plus if you get a hotel on your own, you'll be hit by the Hotel Occupancy Tax, etc.
(2) Take the $1K if you think you'll bust out on the first day. You might make an extra $600 to $700 with that attitude but you're there to be win the damn thing, right? (3) If you do bust out on the first day, then go to the Grand Canyon, go golfing, enjoy yourself. (4) If you do make it to day 3, then your hotel is extended courtesy of PS. If you take the money and then survive, then do you really want to try and find a room after Midnight so you can get some sleep before cards are in the air at Noon the next day? This will be a marathon and its better not to screw with your accomodations. A previous poster is right - there is a back way to the Rio from TI or Mirage where you don't have to get on Flamingo, I-15, or Spring Mountain. In fact the WSOP entrance is at the back of the Rio, not the front. If you do take a taxi, it's not that much. |
