I think your line is good and neccessary to do now and then, BUT not in this specific hand given the texture of the board. Like soah said, the 8 probably gave him another 4 straight outs and I think he has a set here pretty often. His slowplaying line is good too if he views you as very aggro.

Yea, I now agree that this board kind of sucks for this. I'd like it way more if the turn was another 2 or a T or something.

IF i was stuck i shove turn, if im up alot of money i check. Good play though i think, he has a bluff catcher hand. IF he has a monster he is very good.
