Re: how badly did i botch this hand?
I really don't like the turn 3 bet. You 4 bet PF, bet the flop, bet the turn and now you get raised. He knows you have a big pair and doesn't care.

Re: how badly did i botch this hand?
[ QUOTE ]
Particularly the button. KhJh? QQ? 88? Those are the only hands that beat us, match the action on every street and make up just 7 combinations. Other possibilities which we beat and would be commonly 3-bet preflop are AcKh, AsKh, KK, KhQx, a stubborn AQ, perhaps JxJh. Having said that - against some players, the frequency of them raising the turn with a worse hand would be very low. Against these villains just call. [/ QUOTE ] Ya you are describing exactly my problem with the 3bet. how often are the AKs raising that turn? That would be a terrible play. KhQ, AQ, JJ -- all of these are thin as well imo. OP has no reads. Basically, in order for the 3b to be correct imo we need to have a read that the raiser is a LAG, or always semi bluffs draws on the turn, or something like that. |

Re: how badly did i botch this hand?
i dont think 2 bet w/ a Q is that laggy on the turn... i could've just had 4 bet with TT or JJ and didnt want to give a free card on the turn...

[/ QUOTE ] not really... do you ever cap pf and flop with TT/JJ on a board like this? On any board? Unless you are playing super lags it would be a spew. What would your opponents be putting you on? |

Re: how badly did i botch this hand?
You have found yourself facing a river call that offers you the price of 19:1. The pot only is this big, however, because you decided to eviscerate your chips by foolishly 3barrelling the turn. When button takes this line, you don't win ever. I suppose the one good thing that can come from this turn abomination is that you can check/fold the river. But you won't, and you'll pay off, making this turn play/river call a massive mistake.
Now that The_MPC has been kind enough to render judgement on this hand, there need be no more discussion on this matter. |

Re: how badly did i botch this hand?
He won the max because of the mircle turn and CO donk. How he doesnt 3bet(who knows you might 4bet) the turn boggles my mind. Why does he want you drawing to flush cheaply. If you have JJh or KKh you will most likely call the 2 bet on the turn but not a 3 bet. It worked for him but IMO he was trying to lose the hand. He would have puked if you won the hand with a Jhigh flush. Maybe I am wrong, does anybody think he played the hand good?
I also raise the flop 98% of the time in his shoes. Could be wrong there too. |

i dont resort to criticizing the fish's play because we know we'll have all his chips eventually...
