Re: I just don\'t believe anyone
[ QUOTE ]
Talking with Oink, I agree with him. It's weird that he didn't raise Jx on the flop, and these types often seem to get passive with marginal made hands, but can get aggro with draws, so I expect him to usually just call if he has a hand like 6x. At first glance he looks passive, but really he looks weird. [/ QUOTE ] I agree. When a tag check/calls-Check/raises in this spot, in the conversation of poker he is saying "Please fold!" That is why this is a very easy/profitable calldown in today's game against most tags at 5-10 or above. This turn spot is a prime example where good handreaders will rake in the money and mediocre players will get rocked. |

Re: I just don\'t believe anyone
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] i call down because I don't understand how I'm losing. If the river is a diamond, I'm not calling though [/ QUOTE ] Ive made this exact calldown like 7 times in the last week. Every single time my ace high was the nuts on the turn. Incidentally, my opponents missed their draws and bluffed the river each time, so ive been fortunate enough to win several nice pots with nothing recently. Bottom line is this: When you have the nuts, dont fold. This strategy has worked well for me over my poker career. [/ QUOTE ] ILP/WES, you should write a book |

Re: I just don\'t believe anyone
If you constanly call this down at fishy loose-passive games at 2/4 you'll get broke.

but when a good player c/c that flop, and c/r that turn, he has air alot [/ QUOTE ] I don't think a good player has total air here - some sort of turned FD/combodraw/mid-pair hand is much more likely, simply because a good player can't credibly represent a jack here. |

Re: I just don\'t believe anyone
what's the chance the guy bluff caps the turn or donkbluffs river if you 3-bet the turn? this is the exact spot i 3-bet AK and some idiot capped me with 54 and i folded, but i still think 3-betting for a free showdown has merit.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't really like it. He's not going to fold a pair here, so 3betting for that reason isnt going to work. if he has 5 high on the river, chances are he's going to bluff the river in case you have the Q high flush draw, so you get 1BB on the river anyway. You risk getting out played by 5 high |
