I just don\'t believe anyone
He's 33/22/1.4/39 over 470 He raised 54s in the CO and checked through the river when I gave him the chance to bluff at a 4 flush board.

Fold turn, call river if you just called turn.

Re: I just don\'t believe anyone
Turn raise looks weird.
He wouldnt raise a J on the flop 3 way? He really shouldnt wait for the turn since when Hero 2nd barrels 3 way his range is pretty strong. Is he raising a 6 or a 3? He shouldnt really expect to get much value our of that so that would def be overplaying. That leaves monsters like 33 and 66 which should also be raising the flop IMO. IMO his range is biased towards (semi-)bluffs and monsters. He prolly gets a wtf call down from me |

Re: I just don\'t believe anyone
I'd think you should either check behind and call any river, or bet and fold to a c/r. When you call the c/r, you can call the river as well because the only thing that changed is that you don't beat A8 anymore.
Maybe he just cold called a pokcet pair higher than 6s, and with the jack pairing feels like you don't have one. Also, for many players the c/c, c/r line means a monster. Ok, I have to improve my reading skills...it's not heads-up :P |

Re: I just don\'t believe anyone
Talking with Oink, I agree with him. It's weird that he didn't raise Jx on the flop, and these types often seem to get passive with marginal made hands, but can get aggro with draws, so I expect him to usually just call if he has a hand like 6x. At first glance he looks passive, but really he looks weird.

Re: I just don\'t believe anyone
What stakes is this hand from?
At my stakes I would fold this, expecting to be up against at least trips. He seems pretty passive, and didn't bluff when given the chance, so I think he could call flop with a jack not daring to c/r against two players. Clear fold to me... |

Re: I just don\'t believe anyone
this is a really good board for a bad lag to take a shot at and he chose the most-likely-to-be-a-bluff line so I'd call down and feel happy about it. In fact I think this turn is a must bet with any ace in order to induce these types bluff-raises.
As soon as you suspect you're dealing with an decent player this becomes closer to a fold or at the very least the calldown is thin. |

i call down because I don't understand how I'm losing.
If the river is a diamond, I'm not calling though |

i call down because I don't understand how I'm losing. If the river is a diamond, I'm not calling though [/ QUOTE ] Ive made this exact calldown like 7 times in the last week. Every single time my ace high was the nuts on the turn. Incidentally, my opponents missed their draws and bluffed the river each time, so ive been fortunate enough to win several nice pots with nothing recently. Bottom line is this: When you have the nuts, dont fold. This strategy has worked well for me over my poker career. |
