When I was much younger I could BP about 140 in free weights, but 200 on a machine. Is this typical? The Free weight /Machine weight ratio? [/ QUOTE ] yeah, being able to do machines with more load than free weights is standard... |

Starting from the bottom of the lift without the SSC hurts your lift and some machines may be in better or worse shape increasing or decreasing difficulty. But yeah basically machines are considered significantly easier. |

Re: OFFICIAL How Much Can You Bench Thread
Yeah, I'm a little late on this one, but I can't resist.
Bodyweight = 135 Max. Bench = 280 (raw) |

Re: OFFICIAL How Much Can You Bench Thread
Havn't maxed in forever, but I can do 10 reps of 225 on my first set, 10 on my second set, then I start to fall off to about 6 on my third....all of this is without a spotter, so I could probably do more if I didn't feel as if it was a risk. How much do you think I could max with that info?

Re: OFFICIAL How Much Can You Bench Thread
LOL @ THIS THREAD.
MY PERSONAL RECORD IS 825 X 4 BACK WHEN I WAS WORKING OUT. I AM 6'4 225. UGH RIGHT NOW THOUGH, SO LAZY, SCHOOL JUST STARTED BACK UP, IM IN COLLEGE. TOO BUSY DRINKING BEER AND OTHER TYPES OF ALCOHOL AND HAVING SEX WITH VARIOUS WOMEN TO GET A PROPER WORKOUT IN. I MEAN, HELL I STILL MANAGE TO GET IN A LIGHT 6 MILE RUN EVERYDAY AND A LITTLE 3 HOUR WARMUP LIFT IN 4 OR 5 TIMES A WEEK, BUT NOTHING TOO INTENSE. TOO MUCH BEER TO BE DRUNK, IM SURE YOU GUYS KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT. ACTUALLY READ THIS THREAD AND WENT TO THE GYM JUST TO DO A REP AND I WAS SO WEAK. UGHGHG ONLY 625 X 2 REPS. I WOULD'VE MAYBE BUMPED IT UP TO 700 BUT I WAS SO FREAKING WEAK I DIDNT FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH NO SPOTTER, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS SUCH A LIGHT WEIGHT. OH WELL. |
