Re: How the hell do you deal with bad beats?
Some good replys here, been on a real nasty downswing playing 4/180s recently losing with the best hand for huge stacks with <20 left over and over cant win coinflips when they matter blah blah, really hard to keep motivated sometimes just nice to read posts like this knowing it'll even out in the long run :-)!!!

Re: How the hell do you deal with bad beats?
It helps sometimes to look at my sharkscope and see the long term graph in the positive direction. Or OPR and see I'm a net positive over the last X days.

Re: How the hell do you deal with bad beats?
Personally, I don't think there is any such thing as a bad beat. There's just variance. If you suffer, say, 10 losses in a row where you are ahead, then that's a bad streak for sure.
Ultimately, I think it's best to remember that getting sucked out means you're playing well because you're getting in ahead. Bad players don't get sucked out a lot. |

Re: How the hell do you deal with bad beats?
just a side note...I was down at the Borgata playing live and went on a bad streak (losing with KK to maniac all in pre vs A 9, flopping str8 getting all in vs 2 players and board made str8 for chop etc etc) so it happens live too...as many have said poker=a great deal of variance even if you play perfectly...it's tough but try to get Zen with it and hopefully you keep doing what you're doing to get in the correct spots!
