I hate to inject any rational thought into the topic, but

1) If a patient has taken an overdose of almost anything (aspirin and iron being exceptions), it's been shown that ingested material is pretty much absorbed within 30 minutes. Hence the almost complete cessation in "stomach-pumping" in my line of work.

2) I seem to recall that there was some sort of bladder scan that was done by having the patient drink a radioactive tracer - with the pictures starting within 30 minutes of ingestion - if there is a urologist in the house, he may be able to elaborate - my residency was a long time ago.

In summary - 30 minutes is probably plenty of time - it's effect on the taste of various internal gums and resins, I will leave up to further investigators.....

I'm surprised no one has mentioned cinnamon. I've had two discussions about this with girls, and each time a girl has mentioned cinnamon.

Of course I'm not sure if it's true, but I've always planned on incorporating it somewhere into my diet.
