The only hands im beating and hes gonna call any bets are Ax, if i bet turn he calls but folds to a river bet. [/ QUOTE ] Not true at all. And why do you think he'll call your riverraise with Ax but not call turn and river bets with it? |

i hate ur play on all streets [/ QUOTE ] qft [ QUOTE ] Would someone explain why betting turn is better then cheking for pot control and inducing a value bet from villian on river? [/ QUOTE ] uh, if we're checking the turn for pot control then why are we raising the river? that makes no sense. as others said, bettheturn. when he calls the turn, bettheriver |

My thinking was that if villian does have Ax i can wait till river to see if a scare card comes. Because if i bet here and a scare card comes and villian makes a pot sized bet it puts me in tough spot. An their are a lot of scare cards that can come. Ak, AQ , AJ all have 11 outs on river.
And i dont think i miss out that much value by checking turn as oppsed to betting it. If i was to bet turn id bet arounf 2/3 pot, so id bet about 52, then on river id bet just over half pot which in this case would be about 104 (if it was checked to me again). So compare this to me chking turn an getting him to value bet Ak AQ or even block bet AJ and then making a smaillish raise? |

[/ QUOTE ] this is pretty much backwards. you should be betting the turn so you get money in before a scare card comes. and scare cards aren't just the cards that screw over your hand, but also some that kill your action as well. you almost sound as if you're trying to justify plays that make you look like you're scared money to convince yourself you're not |

[/ QUOTE ] yes, pot control + your river raising line don't make sense. why are you checking for pot control and then raising the river? you might as well bet the turn, charge a draw and top pair, and then bet the river. your line sucks cause on the river you have no idea what he has. pot control is not applicable here... you're ahead on the turn and there are draws. |
