online is much harder because aswell as playing against real people there are also poker bots and being able to tell the difference is an important skill not required live. people using pattern mappers are another peril particular to online play

Its much easier to lie to yourself about how much you are up or down in live poker. In online poker there is the cashiers box and if u deposited 600 and now it says 0..... it becomes very tricky to tell yourself your "about even".
people who act like they are awesome at live poker and suck at online poker are donks. The same concepts apply to both. If you are good at one you should be good at the other. |

Just do whatever floats your boat. Some people like playing live casinos better and some like the online arena. Just do what you like the best and you'll probably come out on top..

The biggest difference is that online play requires a computer.

I'm not a "Great" live player by any means, at all, but I am a winning live player. I keep a log of every session I play, so I'm not just lying to myself. But online, I'm a losing player. Why? I don't know, for some reason, I found myself going on tilt when I played online - something that I don't do much playing live. I don't know if it's because there is no one to talk to when you play online, or the fact that I felt like I was losing my money to internet dorks, but something puts me on tilt. Actually, even when I was winning online, I'd still be grumpy after I stopped playing. Whereas live play, I'm happy and relaxed, I enjoy it. |
