Re: 6.50 Bubble AJs on Button, SB has <1BB

calling. you only have to beat one of them [/ QUOTE ] Yes we want to CALL a push b/c it is hard to bubble assuming the shorty is in as well. but we don't want to shove so we don't have the OPer's situation to happen. |

Re: 6.50 Bubble AJs on Button, SB has <1BB
That creates a really weird situation. Call with intention of calling all-in, but not move in ourselves?
It makes sense to me, but...weird |

Re: 6.50 Bubble AJs on Button, SB has <1BB
A call induces sb to have to go allin with weak holdings because a call doesn't put you at risk for elimination? The sb realizes he has to double/triple up here or else he's dead.
However, a push indicates that if the hero were to lose, the shorty makes it in the money. weird, I've never thought about ever smooth calling in that situation. Is it even a leak to push instead of calling? |

Re: 6.50 Bubble AJs on Button, SB has <1BB
shove. Big chance BB is going to fold. Even if he calls you have a good chance to win. If he wins you are still out as 3rd. The only thing that could go wrong is if you push and the big blinds calls and the small stack wins the main pot and the BB wins the sidepot from you. But hell.. if you don't want to take that risk at the 6.50's.

Re: 6.50 Bubble AJs on Button, SB has <1BB
A few things. BB probably isn't as tight as you might think, he can call and lose and almost certainly still make the money. I think his calling range is very similar to what it would be if you were ITM, which is large due to the huge blind levels. I would certainly limp here and hope that SB comes along for the ride. If SB calls and BB pushes then call, if SB folds and BB pushes than fold. Pushing allows SB to fold in hopes of you busting. Not to mention if you push and SB calls BB is less likely to call and if you double up SB you're in trouble. The most important thing to do at this point is get shorty out and the best way to do that is limp.

Re: 6.50 Bubble AJs on Button, SB has <1BB
The problem is that if BB hits top-pair, he would probably protect his hand on a drawy board, so it`s not given that we get a check-down..If we call preflop, I would probably come over the top with a wide range as the BB, so I prefer a push
I must know that he is passive, before I decide to limp here |
