Re: what to do w/99 on undercard board?
yeah but i also think this isn't the 55/27 uber aggro maniac type. if he rarely 3bets but it does it here in the SB on your utg raise then...you're beating only ak on river.
i could see villain checking jj and qq's too probably scared that you called a 3bet and big flop cbet and may have kk/aa. |

Re: what to do w/99 on undercard board?
With an aggression factor of 1.1, I think this is a big pocket pair like 80-90% of the time. I might even fold the flop against someone like this just because his flop bet is big and he is passive by nature and rarely 3-bets preflop(does he even 3bet AK preflop? A lot of people don't).

Re: what to do w/99 on undercard board?
Very obvious you have a midpair here and at worst ak or aq. If he is a bad player he is bluffing here on the river. Good players are pot controlling the turn with a better hand that yours and betting the river for value because they think you think they dont have it because of the old turn check. This spot comes up a decent amount and is usually not easy call/fold. The smoking gun in this case is that he hasnt three bet at all, I would strongly consider folding based on that read more than his tricky turn check.
