What Shivas said about the bye hole is correct...they plan on using it for tourneys because the pros hate blind shots. It's a tricky little hole...not long, but an elevated tee down onto a little-ish green surrounded by some crazy bunkers. In my opinion, much tougher than the dell hole, where bad shots have a good chance of funneling down to the green.

As for using a caddie, the yardage books are pretty good...you'd probably fair a bit better with a caddie, but I wouldn't say it's a must. Our group found our way around ok.

I have played The Bull for our section CPC, it is fabulous and I rate it only behind Whistleing and the Blackwolf River Course, haven't played Erin Hills
