icfishies plays on ub too and certainly can get out of line. i still lean towards folding here.

Re: Stars 100/200, set of kings in trouble
I think you have to see showdown here, since there are enough combinations of hands the others could have played the way they did that you have beat. Of course judging from preflop action, very possibly one of them has Aces, and on the turn action a less likely QJ. I think here you need to make a decision based on what you know about the players, because youre going to have to have a good reason to be folding a set of kings.

Re: Stars 100/200, set of kings in trouble
Like joker said, lead the flop.
When the turn comes, the pot is 4 * 2 + 0.5 [pat BB] + 4 * 2 = 16.5 BB. When it gets capped around to you, there's 26.5 BB in there. You have two annoying choices, but you can't fold here. Call. There's a decent chance AA is out there, but the pot is to big to dump. If it's just QJ out there, you've got outs and want to call. The chances of all three having something other than AA are more than 10%. Some possible hands include AK / trash / QQ / QJ / A8 / 2 hearts. Don't fold. This happens sometimes when you play a big pre-flop hand from awful position. If you aren't comfortable calling in this spot, after hitting your set - then you should fold KK when it comes around to you pre-flop. Most of the time, you're going to lose this pot - but not enough to justify folding. |

Re: Stars 100/200, set of kings in trouble
after more thought i have been convinced. calling the turn is more wrong than i thought before, like maybe -2BB or more in -EV

I disagree. First, would you explain why you think that?
