[ QUOTE ]
As far as the size of the bet, I bet 15k into 55, thinking he has 1 out to make quads, or no outs. Either way, I like the small bet. [/ QUOTE ] Constructive criticism (although evg sums it up very well)...you have the nuts on the turn in a big pot. You put villain on a very narrow range: 99;66;33 ( I wouldn't exclude AA or KK here, esp if there were aggro players behind him pre flop; or air given your weak flop lead)...all hands he has to think are best now, and you bet 15K into a 55K pot? Conventional wisdom says get a little value here...bet 45K b/c that amt gets you committed (so he can now shove) and b/c you're hand is underrepped to the point where it could even be a stubborn AQ. Stop thinking about keeping someone in the pot, and start thinking how to extract the most chips with the nuts, in a big pot. |

Re: Main Event bustout hand...just lay this down ?
Its difficult to give good criticism on this hand since your opponent isnt repping KK or JT and you are sitting on 3rd nuts. Hence this is a really easy call.
I cant really add anything else to what people have already said. It would be more beneficial to you (and the forum) to post hands where you have genuine tough decisions. If you can provide a reason why this is a tough decision (like opponent reads that back this up, these are missing in this hand and I (and many others) probably have no idea who this guy is) then perhaps you can get more advice on the hand. If I were posting this I would think the flop decision + plan for the hand in particular is more interesting than a pretty easy river call. Sorry you busted. |

Re: Main Event bustout hand...just lay this down ?
If he had like JTs with a backdoor flush draw and the backdoor straight draw i wouldnt mind his play, not a bad board to try and take you off and then he ccan take free cards on the turn if he gets a better draw. and then given the extremely good price you gave him on the turn he should probably always just call. Granted there arent many draws, and you can't be counting on him to raise JT there - or really even have it in his range pf, but he prob does.
Anyway, i dont get the turn bet size, and think it should be much bigger. |

I'm pretty certain calling the river is +EV, villian could easily play 99, 66, and 33 the same way, maybe even KQ. [/ QUOTE ] oh really??? |
