Default Main Event bustout hand...just lay this down ?

I have been at this table for about 3 hrs and benn fairly active.

I have 173k, Christian Toth(?) has me covered by less than 500.

blinds 1k-2k,300

I raise utg+1 to 6k with QQ
He flat calls next position.

Flop 963 rainbow, I bet 7500, he makes it 19500, I call.
Turn Q, completing the 4 suit rainbow, I bet 15k, he calls.
River K, I bet 25k, he jams for 113 more.
I call.

comments ?

you bet 15K into a 55K pot with top set on the turn? I think this is kinda FPS given villain's actions in the hand so far.

If he hit the two-outer he's tricky, lucky and nothing you can do. If he hit the str8 I *really* hate your bet on the turn.... I mean, I already hate it but can say it again since you posted results.

I might have led out for more on the flop.

I definitely would have bet more on the turn or maybe even check-shoved on him if you can be confident that he would bet.

Folding the river would be absolutely criminal. I understand that this is your ME bustout hand and you are sad about it but in what way (other than knowing the results) does his hand look anything like JT or KK.

Wow, tough way to go out! I don't see any way to get away here. You're losing to exactly two hands, KK and JT. Very hard to put villian on JT after calling the PF raise and raising the flop.

I'm pretty certain calling the river is +EV, villian could easily play 99, 66, and 33 the same way, maybe even KQ.

The only way I play differently is making slightly larger bets. I like leading on every street. Pot is 15K on the flop, I'd bet 9000. Pot is about 55K on the turn, I'd bet 20K. And with the nuts on the turn and the pot so large, I think you're pot-committed. I make up my mind to shove the river no matter what card comes (obviously wouldn't have mattered here since he's calling anyway, but I think you get called with worse hands often enough to make this the best play).

Villian in this hand plays pretty good from what I have seen.

After I call the flop I dont think he bets many hands on the turn, so checkraing is not an option, because any hands he would bet through the Queen hes not folding, hes either raising or calling my bet.

As far as the size of the bet, I bet 15k into 55, thinking he has 1 out to make quads, or no outs. Either way, I like the small bet.

I think putting him purely on a set after the flop is too narrow a range. I would certainly include AA and KK in his range, and also a float some percentage of the time. Therefore I would give him credit for likely having 1 to 2 outs after the turn.

Even ignoring outs, another reason to bet more on the turn is to build the pot so that shoving the river becomes an easy decision. As played the stack sizes were a little awkward on the river.

Don't shoot the messenger. Your play stunk.

And you are not betting to protect your hand, you are betting to make sure that you stack him when he has 45/78, a set, two pair, or an overpair.
