Re: AK on K hi board, vs other big stack
A limp-reraise would be cool here.

Re: AK on K hi board, vs other big stack
its a conservative play but he doesn't need a large amt of chips so protecting his stack by checking is ok. if you bet w the intention of folding to a reraise then i think thats the optimal play bc u gain when called by weaker hands and lose the same as you would by checking and him betting his stronger (assuming) hand and you calling. about 40 % of the pot is a good bet.

Re: AK on K hi board, vs other big stack
I like the line for pot control and because there's a good chance he'll value bet JK/QK/TT and bluff diamonds (though I think diamonds bet the turn...)

Re: AK on K hi board, vs other big stack
I bet $5 or $6k on the flop, but I really like the way you played the hand, nearly identical.

Re: AK on K hi board, vs other big stack
Flop bet should really be in the 8-10 range. Against a very aggressive player with a wide preflop range (young swedish guys often fit this description) I kinda like a flop c/r.

Re: AK on K hi board, vs other big stack
I think you played it fine. I think if the villain had a missed flush draw, he will bet here almost everytime.
I play it similar some of the time. Normally I will bet the turn as well for something like 10,000 and then check/call the river unless villain is a predictable call station. |
