Ocarina of Time, revolutionary yes just like M64 but both fail after their 15 minutes of fame unlike some of their predecessors which are true classics.

I'm not sure I'd say Ocarina of Time is the best game ever, but Mario 64 really did kick super ass. I liked it a lot better than Super Mario 3, and somewhat better than Super Mario World. I'm psyched to see Super Metroid up there, which is one of my all time favorites.

[/ QUOTE ] I somewhat agree, although you could call zelda 64 a classic, just not the best game of all time. Mario 64 would blow you away for the first 12 hours, but for the most part didn't have a lot of variation, and I wouldn't consider it a classic by any means. |

Mario 64's control scheme was completely awkward. It was amazing what they accomplished and a testament to Nintendo that they could make a 3D-Platformer so fun. Still, the shortcomings of Mario 64 is the shortcoming of the genre as a whole - jumping from platform to platform in 3D is difficult and frustrating due to the camera.
