Re: Antiques Roadshow Trip Report
My mom had a couple of things she wanted appraised, so I went to help her out when they came to SLC, as each person only gets two items appraised, tho I suppose you can sneak extra, smaller items over to different appraisers (I spaced doing that).
Hottie in front of us, plus we were in a very large waiting area, so the three hour wait was OK, barely. OP is right about the overall quality of the crowd & their wares, although some people did have some pretty cool stuff and seemed to be from Planet Earth. Ma's beads & rug were about what we thought; $2-400ea. LOLOLOLOLOL at the two vases; $20-40ea, tho the guy did say they looked "kicky". WTF, they do look kinda cool, plus sentimental value n aw. We actually screwed up, there were a couple other things we could've brought that were much better. Overall, WTF, why not, s'long as you're prepared for the wait & realistic about what you're taking down there. Defo once is enough tho. And there's always the enormous BOOOOM!!! to hope for, like we got when a marble headboard went down right as Jed & Edna reached the front of the line. |
