I went to Barona today and felt shafted when I had to pay $6 for chicken tenders. I wanted my $1.25 cheeseburger and fries from Oceans.

Damn, now I'm hungry. Maybe I'll make another Oceans trip Wednesday or Thursday.

If you run into the wrong cabbie it might cost you.

Back Story: When returning from my trips back East to see family I would usually take a cab from LAX to Hollywood Park, check my bags with the Concirge, play a bit, then get a ride home with my best friend who would be playing in top section.

About two trips ago I'm seated next to an elderly woman on the plane and somehow conversation gets to the post 911 difficulties of getting picked up at the airport. So I describe my method above. She's tells me about the time an LAX cabbie went balistic on her when he found out she was only going about two miles from the airport (HP is about four miles). She told me this sort of thing was common since it also happened to her friend.

The more I thought about it the more I realized that the cabbies always did give me death stares on these short trips. Now I've figured out how to be picked up at the airport [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
