What's the point of having 4 different online savings accounts?

Most accounts are only insured up to $100,000.

A lot of these places have been offering 3 to 6 month promo rates. You lose up to a week in interest when moving around, but the promo. periods are usually long enough to justify doing so.

I, too, started with ING, then jumped to HSBC, and now am at FNBO through at least September.

Question--do you think one has a greater chance of being audited with numerous savings/bank accounts?

I don't have nearly enough money to know what it feels like to be worried about being audited!
