SAVINGS ACCOUNTS...............
Name some you have used that offer a very good APR and one that is very above average in other categories such as no or low fees, good customer service, etc., etc.
I will get the ball rolling. Have had a savings account with Countrywide Financial for a few years now and they have been very good on all accounts. Currently they offer a very good 5.25% APR for savings balances of 10,000 or more and 5.40% APR if you carry a balance over 50,000. Accounts are insured up to 100,000 by FDIC. |

Re: SAVINGS ACCOUNTS...............
Wow, that is damn good for anything >$10,000
By the way APR is for loans; APY for savings I am using EmigrantDirect at the moment (5.05%). Looks like the bar has been raised. |

Re: SAVINGS ACCOUNTS...............
To my knowledge Etrade doesn't pay squat for cash sitting in a brokerage account. However, transfers between Etrade accounts are instant, so if you have a brokerage account, you should have a no fee 5.05% savings account and just keep all your cash in that.
Etrade's customer service, UI, functionality are all fantastic. |

Re: SAVINGS ACCOUNTS...............
Oh...and I once had it take 10+ days to get my money out of an Eloan savings account and consequently don't suggest using them ever for anything.
