if phil housley was killing penalties, god bless the team who had him out there.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'll go along with Housley. He was bad.

Brett Hull for the first 10 years of his career. (or whenever Keenan kicked his ass) All he did was shoot.

Also, Pavel Bure. (but he did nail Anna K.)

[/ QUOTE ]

Im a NHL moron, but from what i know about Bure (beyond nailing Anna K, which is pretty nice) he was a very, very good player.

Tim Legler. Great three-ball man but couldn't do much else. Football is a little bit harder b/c there are so many important skills, and not one that stands above all others. But for the sake of argument, I'll go with Jeff George. Incredible arm strenth, but just a garbage QB overall.

It's tempting to say John Daly, but even Tiger sez Daly is the most naturally gifted guy out there.

Big servers-only in tennis like Tanner, Kraijeck, Rusedski, Phillipoussis might qualify too. Marat Safin is just an under-acheiver; Sampras once said he had as much talent as Federer.

Earnie Shavers is likely the closest boxer, tho he was a much better puncher than Kingman was a homerun hitter.

Jeff George was an excellent suggestion. Let's go with him and Rusedski.

completely absurd. if you think Jeff George was garbage I'd like to know how you'd rate a guy like Matt Hasselbeck or Drew Brees. merely below average?

housley is in the hall of fame because the NHL hall of fame is retarded and lets everyone in. if the baseball hall of fame were as inclusive, dave kingman and darrell evans might be in. he was just not that great a player. maybe steve duchesne is a better example.

bure is a bad selection because he was actually great at scoring goals and a dominant player - kingman had one great season, bure had 4 and a legendary playoff performance.

dave andreychuk for the first 15 years of his career was a power play specialist only - he couldn't skate or play defense.

janney's not a bad pick either.

A better answer for boxing would be Prince Naseem Hamed, who had no balance, no defense, nothing but knockout power.

Shaq dominated several stat lines so i dont think anyone would consider him one dimensional.

Inside game- Great

Outside shooting -not a so much

Free throws uhhhhh no.

3 pointers probably not

Just stickin with offense here, as I think the Kingman camparison really refers to his HR or K career.

Hasselbeck and Brees have both been to the Pro Bowl. I don't recall George ever doing that, although I could be wrong. Also, he was a number one pick that was one of the biggest busts ever.

pro bowl selections are meaningless. they routinely pick players based on reputation and popularity. i mean, vick makes the [censored] thing every year, how much credibility could it possibly have?

and the biggest draft bust thing is inaccurate as well. check his stats or find a list of other #1 picks for reasons why.

Craig Hodges.

He was so good shooting treys that he was in the 3-point contest even when no team would pick him up because he was so bad at everything else.

Yeah, that sentence has some issues, but the point is made.
