Default Dave Kingman of other Sports

Not being a huge follower of basketball, football, or hockey. I am wondering who fans of those sports would consider the 'Dave Kingman' of each of them. Someone who manages to be great in the most important facet of the game, yet still sucks? Complete 1-dimensionalness. Is there someone like that for each sport? I was thinking Shaq for b-ball but obviously he is way mroe valuable than Kingman. Perhpas thats because basketball itself is more of a 1-dimensional sport. Thoughts?

Shaq dominated several stat lines so i dont think anyone would consider him one dimensional.

Chuck Nevitt was good at being tall and that's it.

Tie Domi.

Jeff George - great tangibles, but his other qualities made him and his team losers.

David Beckham
Can’t tackle, can’t dribble, can’t head the ball, can’t use his left foot, great right though.

Mike Vick (football player - ATL Falcons) is a really good scrambler, but sucks at everything else he's required to do.

for basketball it would be a player who shot the lights out but couldn't play defense.

for hockey - same principle. tons of guys apply, but i'd nominate phil housley and mike gartner.

football, jeff george is a perfect example. hard to find a good analogue.

housley was brutally bad on the defensive side of the puck and rarely ended up on a good team as a result. there's lesser players like norm maciver and bryan berard, but because of injury or lack of skill they didn't enjoy the long career that housley (and kingman) did.

part of the legacy of dave kingman is playing in one playoff series. housley and gartner played in one stanley cup final combined.

before his days w/ tampa, dave andreychuk would've been an easy nomination also.

damn, I just saw that the OP specified basketball/football/hockey, because in tennis I would think that huge-serving surly twatwaffle Mark Philippoussis and huge-serving lunatic with mustache Goran Ivanisevich are both good answers.

Dave Kingman and Bruce Sutter were my favorite players growing up, thanks for asking.
