Re: in position against a good player 20/40 Diamond Lil\'s
In an 8-handed game, I think AQo really borders to a fold against a player UTG+1 who I get the impression plays well. You're dominated very often, and you'll play against someone who knows how to play the flop/situations. I guess it's not too bad if he thinks you're too tight and gives you credit for a hand range higher than what you hold.
Anyhow, how you played it: Check flop, no way everyone's folding on a capped flop. Take the free card. You got owned with the check-raise. Fold river unimproved. How are the games at Diamond Lil's? Almost time for a trip to visit the folks in the Seattle area. Be interesting to play $20/$40 there after playing $12/24 for so long. Garland |

thoughts? What range of hands would you put Sam on? [/ QUOTE ] AQ, AK, any pair, any 5 or 7. Basically, I'd put him on every hand in the deck that beats you, and nothing that you beat. [ QUOTE ] What does he put me on? [/ QUOTE ] Tilt, apparently. |

I put him on a hand that beats yours. The flop bet is really bad. I check behind the flop and then just give up probably if I don't improve.

If Sam is viewing your image as you say, he has at least AK. I think he has a big overpair.
He's putting you on, at best, an underpair to his hand. b |

no flop bet even though the pot is 3 way. Certainly I can see checking heads-up, but 3 way? If my PF 3-bet is correct, and he has a wide range of hands preflop, but he knows I have a solid AQ+ hand, then wouldn't he be likely to just check-fold or maybe peel on such a dry board? This is what I was thinking when I bet. When he check-raises then.... I think pwned. [/ QUOTE ] A preflop cap, followed by a check in a 3 way pot is kinda suspicious, dontcha think? Especially if he thinks, because you 3 bet preflop and are tight, you'll probably bet the flop when checked to. b |
