I searched and found this in the "washing your hands after you pee" thread :

According to Phil (ESPN interview excerpt):

" Phil Hellmuth: Yes. One time at the Horshoe during the HOF Poker tournament I was in a high stakes side game. I was holding Sam's seat for him (he wanted me to hold his seat without paying rake) Now, 90 minutes later, he comes back and he doesn't have a seat. He goes ballistic. Now Sam would never mess with me on a regular day. In fact, I've only been in one fight in the last 22 years. But I'd been walking around with my back in obvious pain for four days. I shouldn't have been in town. I had so much back pain. Sam was so bitter and so much negativity coming out of his mouth. I said ''Sam, maybe you should take me outside. I can't even stand up straight'' (I was half joking). Then he said ''Let's go.'' I didn't feel threatened at all by Sam. I went out and it was the perfect fight. We both threw punches, landed punches. But the next day, neither one of us had a mark on our faces! Thus, the perfect fight! Sam and I were laughing and joking about it the next day. "

I read from some dealer blog somewhere that Grizzle was a busto fish always railing for a stake at the Bellagio and was one of the biggest aholes in history.

I can confirm.

It seemed like a small game for him but I'm 99% sure he was playing 15-30 limit when I was at the Bellagio a month ago.

I was playing 15 30 with him in January at the Bellagio. He actually switched to a different 15 30 game claiming the game we were in was to tight.

From what I've heard of the guy he either does or he used to, frequent the big game. He also got in a fight with David Grey.

love to hear this back-story. DG seems harmless as a fly.

grizzle's another poker pro; grizzle kicked the crap out of hellmouth many years ago. I wish he'd do it again.

I've heard the result was a mild scrap with no clear winner, both realizing they were tougher in their mind then in real life.

Pretty much how I envision my first fight.

played with Sam a few times in the mixed games recently. He does not play well. That being said, he seems to know what he's doing, he just can't help himself from playing like a donk.

I dono much about Sam Grizzle, but according the hendon mob' DB, his 2 best best money finish were in 1989 & 1991 ( 70k$ about ) even if he seem to be a regular in the cicuit. Look like he was a better player 20 years ago !
