letting him check behind with a spade in a pot of this size is pretty bad

shove here, the pot is too big to screw around and your hand is almost always good. let him make the hard decisions.

hopefully he's not freerolling you with black aces.

i second this.

also aejones said how he didn't feel the push was right at first, which I agree with for deeper stacks or a smaller pot, in which case PSB. (Is this a good amount assuming hes got QsQ - KsK?)

HIYOO!

If AA ever gets a bad flop isn't it this one?
Sorry, I'm just not seeing what situation you should ever fold AA if not here...

during the hand this seemed like a really tough spot, but the more i thought about it i think it's a really easy push. a large chunk of his range is going to have a hard time folding if it picked up a flush draw. plus, i think some players might talk themselves in to me always checking that turn with an overpair--hence i must have the nuts or air (semibluff with AsK etc).

anyways, i pushed and he obv snapcalled with AsKs.

With stacks this DEEP, I dont think going broke with one pair is ever a good idea. but....with the action you're pretty much getting it in and kicking yourself when you're beat and being a hero when he tables KsKx etc
