[/ QUOTE ] That's right. Instead, he just called pf, pushed on a draw on the turn, got me to fold the best hand, and tripled up the pfr'r. The stacks went from ~9,000, 4,500, 1,500, to ~7,500, 3,000, and 4,500, respectively. The blinds were so huge at 600, 1,200 that there was virtually no play, and I was out 2 hands later and the big stack that pushed me out lost the tournament to the small stack he saved. I don't see how anyone could have concluded from my post that the big stack did the right thing without knowing the stack sizes and the blinds. In any case, I'm back to my usual rule of never educating the ignorant.

I was wondering specifically if there was any +EV to explaining to another player the value of checking down in that situation. Thanks to those with sincere responses.
