Agnoke, learn to stack on one monitor.

[/ QUOTE ]

what does this mean? do you mean to cascade the tables instead of tile them?

[/ QUOTE ]

no you stack them all directly on top of each other then they get queued and pop up when you have action on each table.

im using a 30" dell @ 2560x1600 native resolution.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm considering buying one of these. Can anyone recommend a graphics card that won't cost the earth? Also, my PC is about 2 years old - will it be able to support this setup, or will i need to shell out for a new pc?

thanks!

As long as it's a PCI-E card that has Dual Link DVI (that doesnt mean dual-port DVI, it means double the bandwidth down one port) then it should work.
Dell had a list of cards supported on its website.
I got mine well over a year ago so I would assume most modern cards will support it.

What is required for running 3 monitors at once? Also is there a difference between running 3 standard 20" monitors and something like the setup above with a larger widescreen in the center? Don't most video cards only support 2?

The short version is that you need enough plugs in the back of your PC for each monitor to plug into.

Essentially, you either get a video card with multiple plugs (it is unusual to get a card with more than two) or you get multiple video cards (much cheaper).

Your PC will probably have spare PCI slots, and you can buy PCI video cards fairly cheaply depending on where you are.

Yes - thus, you'll need to buy more video cards.

Here is a truly excellent FAQ on this topic: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...=2#Post10219153

Wow thanks. I'm looking to get a new desktop sometime soon that can support 3 monitors, I have a fairly nice laptop now but I never take it anywhere and would rather have more monitors, more deskspace, something that doesn't overheat occasionally, etc.
